Bach N' Beats

The Austin Symphony Orchestra is excited about a new style of performance, one that brings classical and electronic dance music (EDM) together. “Bach N’ Beats” is a one-night-only mash-up concert at the historic and multi-genre indoor music venue, The Parish. At this downtown hotspot, a string quartet (two violins, viola and cello) made up of ASO musicians will perform a classical work and then one of the three DJs will do a mash-up including a variety of musical elements. This event takes place on Friday, September 28, 2018, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the renowned, award-winning The Parish at 214 E. 6th Street. The featured DJs are DJ Chicken George, LouLou, Curse Mackey, and Shree they will each be mixing their own style and flavor for the crowd based on the string quartet’s pieces.

Wire Recording Studio, with Grammy-Award winning engineer and Austin Music Commissioner Stuart Sullivan, has donated their services to record the string quartet at the live room at the Mosaic Sound Collective, who has donated its space. Those recordings are what the DJs will sample from.

Early admission price is $10 and after Sunday, August 5, 2018, the price goes to $15 for general admission. Must be 21 years or older to attend the event.
